The Gewa Pro Arte Antique is an affordable headband with a refined look.

GEWA's Pro Arte Antique series brings a refined, classic touch to affordable acoustic instruments. The Gewa Pro Arte Antique bandola is an excellent example of the quality of this series.

Designed in the traditional format of the Portuguese bandola, the construction of the Gewa Pro Arte Antique mandola is made entirely of solid wood. The top is in spruce (fir) and the bottom and sides are in maple. The pickguard is also made of wood and is built into the top.

The neck is also in maple and the fingerboard is in solid wood, with 17 frets in nickel silver. The tuning machines are Van Gest, made in Europe, with plastic buttons.

The Gewa Pro Arte Antique mandola has a very captivating, vintage-style look, achieved through a developed finish that gives it an antique, time-stained look.

But in reality it is a modern instrument made according to traditional construction techniques, entirely made in Europe.

The sound of the Gewa Pro Arte Antique mandola is very present and defined, of great quality.

The bandola is an eight-stringed chordophone of European origin, from the mandolin family. It tunes one octave below the mandolin (E-A-D-G, from treble to bass). It is used in traditional Portuguese music and also in other European countries. In Irish musical tradition it is known as an octave mandolin, and is part of the sounds of Celtic music.

GEWA is a German brand founded in 1925, with a great tradition in the construction of acoustic instruments. It is representative of a huge range of well-known brands such as VGS, DW and Ovation.

The Gewa Pro Arte Antique mandola is a showy instrument with a very good sound at a very attractive price.
