The viola braguesa or viola of Braga is a traditional Portuguese cordophone typical of the Minho region, in Portugal. It has about 90cm and generally has the opening of the harmonic box in format called "mouth of ray", being also possible to be in circular format (round mouth). It is played rasgado, with fingers running through all the strings. It has 5 orders of double strings, the two highest orders being tuned in unison and the three most serious orders tuned in octaves.
It has several possible settings, the most traditional being known as "moda velha". From the highs to the basses A4 - E4 - B3 - A3 - D3. The brand presented in our site is Artimúsica.
