The APC TT Traditional is a traditional style tenor ukulele so you can play the great classics of Hawaiian music and beyond.
Made in Portugal by one of the best national chordophone brands, the APC TT Tradicional is a high quality tenor ukulele, with a true Hawaiian ukulele sound.
The Traditional APC TT is completely made of solid wood. The top, back and sides are made of koa, a species of acacia native to Hawaii, which gives it the identity and sound of instruments native to the American island. The fingerboard in African black wood is 18 frets. The sound is defined and of good quality, faithful to the original sound of traditional ukuleles.
The natural lines of the wood give it a very organic and natural look. Built to last, it's an investment in an instrument that can cross generations.
The tenor ukulele is the largest of the ukulele models, with a larger case than the concert ukulele and, traditionally, with a larger scale. It is widely used by more advanced musicians who want an instrument that makes itself heard and has a superior melodic range.
The ukulele was taken by Portuguese sailors to the American islands in the Pacific to cheer up crews on their long voyages. It later became a very popular instrument in the early decades of the 20th century, when Hawaiian-inspired music filled the early days of radio in the United States, and kept American soldiers company in the trenches of World War II.
Today, this direct descendant of the Portuguese cavaquinho is one of the most popular instruments in the world because it's easy to learn and a lot of fun to play. And its portability continues to be one of its strengths.
APC was founded in 1976 by António Pinto Carvalho, who descends from a centenary school of luthiers in Porto. The company has about 45 artisans who build different types of traditional Portuguese and other origins chordophones. APC is the largest national company in this field, producing and selling instruments to more than twenty countries.
The APC TT Traditional is a tenor ukulele that should be part of every dedicated ukulele's collection.
