Gretsch is a brand of musical instruments founded in 1883 in the United States by Friedrich Gretsch, a German immigrant.
Throughout its history Gretsch became known for some of the guitar models it built, such as the White Falcon, Round Up, Silverjet, Twist, Country Gentleman, Brian Jones, Late Falcon or Duo Jet, and others that became true icons in hands of musicians such as John Frusciante, Eddie Cochran, Michael Guy Chislett, Elvis Presley, Bono, Chet Atkins, Lou Reed, George Harrison, Phil Keaggy, Brian Setzer, Billy Duffy or Malcolm Young.
Currently, the Gretsch brand continues to produce new models and reissues of classic models. The guitars are produced and distributed by Fender and the drums by Kaman.
