Description

Experience superior sound and playability with the Artimúsica BD42TC mandolin, a luxury model for demanding musicians.

The Artimúsica BD42TC is more than an instrument, it is an experience for the listener's ears and a pleasure for those who play it. The BD42TC is a nationally manufactured mandolin, built according to traditional techniques applied by the experience of the artisans of Artimúsica, one of the biggest brands of traditional instruments in Portugal.

Made with selected woods, the Artimúsica BD42TC has a pear-shaped body and a shallow case. The top is in spruce, in a lighter shade than the back and the sides are in Brazilian rosewood. The neck is in mahogany and the fingerboard is in ebony. The combination of woods of great acoustic quality and great longevity makes the Artimúsica BD42TC mandolin have an excellent resonance and projection as well as a longevity potential capable of crossing generations.

The Artimúsica BD42TC mandolin has a clear sound, very defined, ideal for trills and melodic accompaniments that shine and stand out in the harmony of the ensemble. Its careful construction promotes an easy and comfortable play, in an instrument that remains in tune even with intensive use.

The careful finishes, the attention to detail, the quality of the woods and the brilliant sound make this mandolin an authentic luxury. Discreetly decorated, the Artimúsica BD42TC shines in the hands of capable musicians. It is a very comfortable instrument to play, allowing for more technical and complex interpretations.

The mandolin has its origins in the early 16th century in Italy, where it developed in different versions. It was very popular among the noble classes, and quickly spread to European courts, where it could be seen in the lap of many ladies. With four pairs of strings, it is tuned like the violin (high to low - E La D Sol).

As it was liked by the nobility and the high bourgeoisie, it received the attention of great composers such as Vivaldi, Beethoven, Handel, Verdi and Mozart, who wrote pieces for this instrument.

Mandolins come in many national or regional variations, with bodies of different shapes, entering modern times with electrified versions. In his close family are Bandola, Bandoleta and Bandoloncelo.

Founded in September 1992, Artimúsica is one of the leading brands in the artisanal construction of traditional Portuguese instruments. It is a family business, continued by masters Manuel Carvalho and José Carvalho, who still follow the construction method started by their grandfather, master Joaquim José Machado.

The Artimúsica BD42TC mandolin is an instrument of great construction and sound quality, a luxury for the eyes and ears. Made in Portugal.
