Bach's Little Preludes and Fugues allow you to meet the Bach pedagogue, despite differences in quality and origin. The first works, that is, the first Bach exercises, as well as the later models and pieces written for teaching and the students' work as a testimony to his method of teaching, show the authentic way up to Bach of the great works.

These little preludes and fugues were not recompiled by Bach. Some of these works were found in collections and loose leaves. The recompilation was done by copyists and editors who later organized the editing of Bach's music.
The first six small preludes come from the book of Wilhelm Friedmann Bach and were partly written for him. There is no doubt about the "bachiana" origin and about the time of composition. They are works of authentic Bach although some have been composed by the own W.F. Bach under the direction of the father.
The second group was recompiled later under the title "Six Preludes for Beginners". They appeared in an old edition of the C.F. Peters house, reviewed by Forkel.
The third group of six small prelums were extracted from the collection of Johann Peter Kellner (1705-1772) and are the only source of transmission of this preludes. The fact of combining them with the "Klavierbüchlein", the similarity and style shows that it comes from the "Bachiana" school.
The fourth group with small leaks and preludes with fughetta are related to the Well Tempered Clavier and can be presented as a didactic example for the composition of leaks.
