The Artimúsica CV17C is a cavaquinho that exudes refinement. The artisans of Artimúsica have not spared attention to detail, with high quality finishes, representing the best that is done in the construction of traditional Portuguese instruments.

It all starts with the materials, and the artisans at Artimúsica have chosen the best for the CV17C. The top is in spruce and rosewood, creating a spectacular contrast between its two half-tops. In the middle of the body is the mouth, with a decoration of beautiful effect.

The back and sides are made of solid Brazilian rosewood, with a finish that emphasizes the natural grains of the wood. The neck is made of poplar, and the fingerboard is made of Brazilian rosewood, which gives a continuous effect up to the top half. The four strings are tuned by a set of nickel-plated chimes, which allows for the most intense interpretations.

The sound of the cavaquinho Artimúsica CV17C is warm and sweet, full of spirit and tradition, perfect for interpreting traditional music or experimenting with other musical styles, always with the characteristic sound of this very Portuguese instrument.

The cavaquinho is one of the most popular Portuguese chordophones among musicians of various styles. Used in traditional music, from the Minho raids to the folklore of Madeira, it has found space in other musical genres that benefit from its lively and brilliant musicality. The traditional tuning of the cavaquinho is, from the highest to the lowest string, D - B - G - G.

Artimusica is one of the most illustrious brands of Portuguese popular instruments, with a huge tradition in the manufacture of the cavaquinho, this typically Portuguese instrument that has spread and metamorphosed throughout the world, from Cape Verde to Brazil, from Madeira to Hawaii, where, under names different styles, this 4-string chordophone gained prominence and an identity of its own in each of the cultures where it was established.

Founded in September 1992, Artimúsica is one of the leading brands in the artisanal construction of traditional Portuguese instruments. It is a family business, following the construction method started by master Joaquim José Machado, over 100 years ago. Today, his descendants manufacture each instrument as if it were a true work of art, making each piece unique and of high quality.
